NPDES Training for Vessel Crewmembers (NTV) was developed by shipping veterans to teach Officers, Superintendents, Port Captains and Crew the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Vessel General Permit (VGP) Regulations and how to comply with them.
NTV is available in two versions. An Inland version that was developed with the American Waterways Operators Guidelines in mind and an offshore version for ocean going vessels.
NTV includes a software tool called the NPDES Inspection Checklist (NIC) that steps you through generating a discharge inspection checklist customized for your vessel. This customized tool helps you plan and document timely inspections for the regulated discharges.
